Meet Dr. Ron Saffar
Dr. Ron Saffar earned his dental degree and specialty training in orthodontics at the New York School of Dentistry. He also fulfilled a six-month fellowship in Surgical Orthodontics at the New York University School of Medicine.
Dr. Saffar is an active member in the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association and Mercer County Dental Society. He also was Past President of the Hudson County Dental Society. Dr. Saffar has had numerous abstracts published and has lectured extensively.
Dr. Ron Saffar gives back to the community by supporting Smiles Change Lives and Philabundance. When he is not in the office, Dr. Saffar enjoys golfing, tennis, skiing, traveling and spending time with his wife and daughter.
Types of Braces We Use
There are more options than ever when it comes to wearing braces. Traditional metal braces are still very common but our office specializes in clear braces and Inivsalign are more and more popular for our patients.
Metal Braces
The metal braces we use are the most common type. These braces are made of high-grade stainless steel and they are smaller, more comfortable and more attractive than metal braces used a few years ago.
Ceramic Clear Braces
The ceramic braces we use are made of a translucent or clear material. These braces are popular among our adult and pediatric patients due to the cosmetic appeal they provide. The only drawback to ceramic braces is that they are more fragile.
Invisalign
The
Invisalign System we use consists of a series of clear; overlay templates or aligners that have been computer generated to gradually move the teeth. This low-profile system is available to adults with certain orthodontic bite problems. When you are wearing Invisalign, many people may not even notice that you are straightening your teeth, as the Invisalign System is nearly undetectable. Dr. Saffar can determine if you are a candidate for Invisalign.
